Medios Libres y Futbol
I searched all over town for the anarchist bookstore
Biblioteca Social Reconstruir, but had to come home empty-handed. But I did find some great Bible bookstores! (Speaking of Bibles, the
Pope's death was so important in Mexico, that they even postponed a Futbol game for it).
So I was a bit exhausted. No bookstore, couldn't get in touch with
Fran, couldn't find the autonomous
Magonista Center, lost, hungry, and missing my chickens back home.
But then I found them! Some friends of friends wrote back to me with an address for the
Centro de Medios Libres, which is NOT the
Centro de Medios Independientes. I went over to the place, which is basically an apartment, and met some great people, talked about independent media in D.F., and made plans to come back later and do some interviews (audio and video). After that, I got in touch with Fran (a past organizer of
borderHack) and we're gonna meet up today; I found the Centro de Medios Independientes people, and we're organizing a meeting next week. Things are starting to come together.
Later, I went with my cousin to a futbol (soccer) game. At one point, they brought a
really really big ball onto the field. Good game, lots of drinking and yelling. Too bad everything was stained in
corporate logos.
Off to the
Museo Nacional de Antropologia today. Later, I'll go to the conference on
autonomia at Okupache.
