Welcome to Chiapas
After 13 hours on a bus, I´ve made it to San Cristobal de las Casas, Chiapas.

I see lots of hardworking women in the open marketplace. In fact, almost everyone in the open market is either a woman or child.

You know, when you´re reading all those stories by Subcomandante Marcos and comandante Ramona and David, and listening to , you wouldn´t have expected San Cristobal to be such a . . .gringo backpackers resort town.

Strange, huh. I guess it makes sense. Beautiful, cheap, surrounded by mountains. Sorta like Antigua, Guatemala, but mixed with the Muslim quarter of Jerusalem, and BAM, San Cristobal.

At least they have some good vegetarian restaurants. And some awesome pirate radio stations. And a thriving indymedia center.

I mean, why do people come here just to spend money. Don´t they know there´s a revolution going on?

Hey, wait, I gotta go. I see some dolls on sale. . .
